Baby Bybee

About 3 years ago I was set to meet one of my very best friends, Vanessa, for margaritas and tacos. She suprised me that evening by telling me she had taken a pregnancy test on her way to the restaurant and that it was positive! You can imagine my initial shock, when I realized my margarita buddy was gone- at least temporarily.

9 months later, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Aurora. She was gorgeous from the get go, with these amazing light eyes and caramel skin! It was a special day when I went to meet this little bundle of joy, just two days after she was born. Not only was I meeting Aurora, but I was also meeting my friend Vanessa, in her new role as mommy. To top it off, later that evening, I found out that I too would have a little one soon as I was pregnant with my daughter. Obviously it's a day I will never, ever forget.

I've known Vanessa since I was about 12 or 13 years old. She used to come over to my neighbor's house (they went to school together) and we would all hang out: laughing, talking about boys, making quesadillas and cookies, you know what typical teenage girls do! It's been great to see us grow together, turn into mommies, support each other in all new ways, and become even closer friends then we were then.

On September 11th, (a day so many will remember for other reasons), Vanessa welcomed her second beautiful baby girl into this world! She decided to wait until birth to find out the gender, but all along she "knew" that it was going to be another girl. According to her, she "only breeds women from that body".

So happy that Little Miss Aurora will have a little sister to guide and play with, and that my little Kaylah Bug will have these great girlfriends so close in age! I hope to see them play together, grow together, and become great friends like their mommies are!

Here are some of the images I captured during their stay in the hospital. A few days after they were released, I met them at their home for a newborn session and those images are included here as well.
